Ask Wyntergems, also spelled Ask Wynter Gems, is an ask blog on Tumblr made and run by N.R. Wynter. It's an interactive story driven by questions sent from people and/or their gemsonas. The blog was launched on September 29th 2016 and currently features one occupant.
A hardworking and dedicated swordsman who can take on foes twice her size. Fire Agate was a well respected captain who served under Yellow Diamond. Now, she tries to adjust to her new lifestyle on Earth as leader of the Astro Gems.
A gem owned by TK Pinkerton is Fire Agate's best friend and a member of the Astro Gems. Optimistic yet cowardly, they're a retired veteran who fought in the Gem War. Blue Obsidian often geeks about campy comic books and get into idiotic competitions with Red Obsidian. They run their own ask blog called Ask TK's Gems.
Another gem owned by TK Pinkerton, is the pessimist to Blue Obsidian's optimism. A brooding crybaby who tries too hard to look cool, Red Obsidian likes to rant about the importance of gritty comic books. They stand as the voice of reason to Blue Obsidian's antics, but often get swept by them. Along with the aforementioned obsidian, Red Obsidian also runs Ask TK's Gems.
Jet is a character owned by ADB-Fantasy. An old mining and construction gem who's blunt and provides dry-pan commentary. As her kind was replaced by newer gems, Jet was left to fend for herself during the Gem War and had joined a group of space pirates before meeting Fire Agate and the rest. Like Blue and Red Obsidians, she's part of an ask blog named Ask ADB's Gems.
A fusion of Green and Pink Tourmalines, owned by sentaiaddict and lupineskyesrespectively. She is cheerful and sweet, but has a tendency to be naive and spacey. She's a specialist with flora on Earth and grows her own garden. Not much is known about Watermelon Tourmaline's past.
Ask Wyntergem's main story is the primary focus of the blog. It progresses by people sending messages or questions to the characters in the form of updates. There are also special types of updates, like intermissions and ask flash rounds, will be posted occasionally to add extra content to the story. Since update 8, the story is split into arcs. It's currently focused on Fire Agate, but this may change when more Gems are added.

Along with the main story, Ask Wyntergems also features side stories. These are short in length and aren't usually connected with the main story. These short stories involve other Gem ask blogs.
The blog's first and shortest side stories. This takes place right after one of Ask TK's Gem's "magic anon" or "M!A" prompts. Blue Obsidian was forced to wear their helmet, which was glued to their head, for a number of messages. When the prompt was over, they were able to take it off but left their hair a mess. Fire Agate stops Blue Obsidian before they could do anything else and washes their hair with a mop while they're sitting in a tub. When she's drying their hair, Blue Obsidian thanks her by addressing her as "Captain Clean" and squeaking a rubber duck they were holding. Fire Agate smiles in response.
Trepassers is another early, but short side story during Fire Agate's patrol. She encounters a small Moonstone who cowers and begs not to be hurt. After glaring at the Gem, Fire Agate orders her to leave and never come back. She then remarks that she needs to talk to Jet about updating security.
There is a continuation to this story, which mostly takes place on twitter. Fire Agate and Jet discuss about the security project time to time until it's completion. Jet makes a post about this on Ask ADB's Gems.
Fire Agate Vs Apatite
One of the blog's longest side stories to date. It involves Fire Agate and Apatite, a Gem belonging to Ask Spess the Best. It starts off with Apatite challenging Fire Agate to a fight. When she shows up with her fist engulfed in flames, they run off. Apatite returns with a giant robot to face her. Fire Agate takes up their challenge and runs head first into the robot. After a few strikes, the robot splits into separate parts. Never taking her sight off of them, her sword returns to her gemstone and remarks how Apatite should come back when they can put up a fight.
The story continues when Apatite and Cinnabar, another Gem from Ask Spess the Best, fuse into Purple Fluorite. They challenge Fire Agate to another duel which she accepts. A part of their fight is in the form of a song titled "A Song For Fi". Purple Fluorite has the upperhand in the fight, taunting her as it goes on. They seem to have both Blue and Red Obsidians trapped and unable to assist her. Blue Obsidian tries to reassure Fire Agate that Purple Fluorite holds no malice, but it doesn't help to deescalate the situation. The song ends with Purple Fluorite asking a battle worn Fire Agate what she'll do next. While a continuation was promised, it's unlikely it'll come to fruition.
